After seven albums with Fatima Mansions, Cathal started a solo career and between 1996 and 2021 released – Grand Necropolitan, Black River Falls, The Sky’s Awful Blue, Foburg, Rancho Tetrahedon and Song of Co-Aklan. Grand Necropolitan’s limited release meant it was widely ignored and referred to by Cathal as his ‘secret release’. The four albums that followed gained critical acclaim and after a decade-long hiatus he came back with his sixth solo release Song of Co-Acklan in 2021.
